Tree Risk Assessment

The difference between a healthy tree and an unhealthy tree is often difficult to distinguish. Disease and dying parts of the tree may be hidden and lurk beneath the surface. If left undiagnosed and untreated, trees may pose significant risk for personal injury and property damage. Certified Arbor Care helps business owners, property owners and property managers mitigate the exposure to the numerous hazards of susceptible trees. Certified Arbor Care has provided complete tree risk assessment services in the Austin Metropolitan Area since 2006.

A comprehensive risk assessment requires examination and documentation of a tree’s physical problems from the roots to the bark and inside of the tree. We evaluate the health of the tree’s roots, trunk, branches, crown and canopy, and assess the probability and ramifications of the deterioration of portions of the tree or the death and collapse of the entire tree. We conduct examinations of root damage, trunk and branch rot and general health of the canopy. We use methods such as drilling, partial soil excavation, inspection by air, root crown inspection and other means to fully assess the health of the tree.

To remove risk of personal injury or property damage liability, some trees or branches must be removed. On other trees, risk may be adequately mitigated through abatement solutions such as cable supporting, pruning, structural bracing and trimming, among other methods.
